The National League Structure
National League offers 4 levels of competition, typically, at 3 – 5 events each year. Venues often include Burgess Hill, Cardiff, Eastleigh & South Shields. Gymnasts are able to accrue League Points at each competition with their league position based on their best 2 points scores. Those with the highest league positions are invited to the League National Finals.
- League 3 – requires a 6 somersault set routine with a maximum difficulty of 6.5 for the vol.
- League 2 – requires an 8 somersault set routine with a maximum difficulty of 8.0 for the vol.
- League 1 is split into four age groups:
- Junior – 9 – 12years – at least 8 somersaults with 3 specific requirements:
- one landing on front,
- one landing on back,
- one somersault with at least a full twist,
- 13 – 14 and 15 – 16 – at least 9 somersaults with 3 specific requirements:
- one landing one front or back with a further element from that,
- one double somersault,
- one somersault with at least 1½ twist
- Senior 17+ and Super League (15+) in which both routines are voluntary and attract difficulty.
- Junior – 9 – 12years – at least 8 somersaults with 3 specific requirements:
- Super League with cash prizes.
