Judging at Competitions

Judging Guidelines

British Gymnastics adopted the FIG Code of Points for judging; BG Judges need to revalidate their qualification against new releases of this code.

Judges focus on the correctness, precision and neatness of the performed skills. Judges often use Technology to measure how high the gymnast jumps and how well they stay in the centre of the trampoline.

Individual skills and routines also have a difficulty value and judges should be able to compute these.  Judges acquire the skills to judge the quality of increasingly complex skills without being overawed as they progress from local to regional, and on to national and international qualifications.
